Re-adjusting

October seemed like a blur to me as time appeared to stand still for a while. We’ve had to re-adjust our lives and schedules after losing our Tuco. We were busy as usual though, but I found myself asking, what did we do this month?

We started the month with a book reading at our Stansbury Park Library. The library is in the lower level of our Club House situated at the edge of our lake. The view from the reading area was beautifully enhanced by the sun and the falling yellow leaves. We had a good turn out of kids and parents. This library has come a long way since we were last there. I was happy to see the wide variety of books on the shelves and displays. We contributed a set of SKIP THOMAS ADVENTURES books and are proud to be a part of our community.

Our next event was at the Grantsville Library where they let us do a book launch. We liked it there. The focus was us in the middle of the library when you entered. We had our posters and balloons throughout areas to guide readers to our book tables. It was fun. We met some fun kids that were excited to meet us and get their pictures taken with the author and illustrator. I loved seeing the young kids get so pumped about books and reading. There was one little boy that just amazed us with the questions he asked us. We gave him some balloons to take home and he was ecstatic!

We took one more camping trip before the weather changed. Deer Creek State Park is close to home and this time we took our mountain bikes. There is a new area there now called Fox Run with full hook-ups for motorhomes and trailers. The view from this campground was beautiful. All the sites have a great view of Deer Creek Reservoir. They are very spacious, but also cost a bit more. We were happy in the Chokecherry campground.

Halloween didn’t disappoint either. We had a lot of new faces come trick-or-treating this year. Being a school night, there weren’t many street walkers after 8 pm and that was ok with us!

We are slowly adjusting to our quiet home. It was a long four weeks of sorrow and waiting. Tuco finally came home and was reunited with his brothers on our dresser. Josh, Skip, Bear, and Tuco are all together again. Time will heal our broken hearts; I just hope it’s not too long.

Until next time, God bless and hold your fur babies tight!
