Happy 2022!
Here we go again, another new year, out with the old and in with the new. For me, January is a time to reflect on the past year. What did we do right? What did we do wrong? And how can we make 2022 a better year. As I look back on blogs and the travel diary I wrote, I see we can make adjustments and seek new things to do and find places to go. All in all, we did pretty good. It was a good year.
One thing I am pleased and blessed with is our good health. Both my Sweetie and I are diligent in trying to eat healthy, exercise, and practice social distancing when necessary. At times it’s hard, because we want to see our friends and make new memories. And at the same time, is it worth the risk getting together with a crowd of people and getting Covid just to have a few hours of merriment? I think not. Until this pandemic subsides, we will stay home. We got our booster vaccines and stay in touch with family and friends over the phone or social media right now. When we do go out, we’re very selective and still wear our masks.
So, what is in store for us this year? Well, we are starting a new book! Book four in the Skip Thomas Adventures series will be one everybody can relate to. Right now, it’s a work in progress and as it gets to fruition, I will fill you in on the details. We are being very creative and you will have to follow us to find out more…;)
This year we want to get away more. We are looking for places to relax, rejuvenate, and enjoy the outdoors. We have a few trips planned with the motor home already. I don’t know where you live, but here you have to make RV reservations in the State Parks months in advance. And if you’re lucky enough, get the month, week, and days you want! Now days, everyone is jockeying for a place to reprieve and escape the pandemic.
This month is also a time for us to think about what weekends we want to do Farmers Markets. We were very happy where we were last summer and plan on scheduling there again.
January can be a stressful month, for me anyway. Not because it’s gloomy, cold and snowy, but because it’s tax season again. Yuck! Throughout the past year, I wondered if keeping all those receipts, miles, and notes of everything business was worth doing. But in the end, yes, it was. It just gives me a headache. Filing quarterly helps a lot, though I don’t find it enjoyable. Oh well, c’est la vie.
Until next time,
God bless, stay positive, stay connected, and stay safe.
